The UK industry has a strong interest in ensuring its marketing communications comply with the Codes, helping to maintain consumer trust and allowing responsible advertising to flourish. CAP supports the industry’s commitment and boosts compliance by providing bespoke training and advice to companies, often in cooperation with the ASA.
Bespoke seminars
The ASA and CAP invest time in bespoke seminars for those companies wishing to improve their understanding of the Codes and how the rules are interpreted in more detail and in a non-competitive environment. In these half-day seminars, we bring together executives from every part of the advertising regulatory system and tailor the seminar to the specific needs of your brand or business. There is also an opportunity for companies to tell the ASA and CAP executives about their plans and how they develop their claims. These unique seminars are resource intensive but we welcome the initiative of businesses that are keen to improve their compliance and train their staff, agencies and advisors through a dedicated session. The number of participants can vary from company to company but we can large groups, up to 40 people. There is a fee of £750+VAT for bespoke seminars.
Presentations to companies
We frequently receive requests from companies for CAP Copy Advice team to present at their offices, ranging from short meetings to day-long attendance at corporate events. We aim to support advertisers wherever possible and work with them to increase compliance with the Codes. As some invitations can impact on our limited team resources, we need to consider these on a case by case basis as they require a significant time commitment. The fee is £750+VAT.
